Today, we are faced with conflicts on a daily basis. Conflicts on an international level are important in our lives. Being internationally minded and citizens of this global community we all should strive to stay in touch with the news, understand these conflicts, and do our part to resolve them. We need to be educated and presented with all possible views to form our own opinions and beliefs. To help us appreciate these conflicts and their complexities, the morning panel is going to focus on peacekeeping and armed intervention. There are many ways to solve a conflict. Two major solutions are peacekeeping and armed intervention. Which is more effective? Do they work better in tandem? These questions and more will be answered in the morning panel, where we will be hearing from three experts in the fields of international relations and conflict resolution.

These experts are Peter Langille, Michael Semple, and Clifford Orwin. Peter Langille directs Global Common Security I3 in London, Ontario, where he specializes in UN peace operations, peace and conflict studies, as well as independent defence analysis. Michael Semple is a regional specialist on Afghanistan and Pakistan with 25 years experience in the two countries. He currently holds a fellowship with the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard's Kennedy School. Clifford Orwin is a politics person, not an ethics person. He is a professor of Political Science, and Director of the Program in Political Philosophy and International affairs at the University of Toronto.

Speakers: Peter Langille, Michael Semple, and Clifford Orwin
